ESET Security Review

ESET offers a good anti-malware engine as well as firewall settings. It also comes with a password manager that includes forms filling, browser protection, and a password manager. Its parental control along with its secure browser and anti-theft tools are good, but nothing extraordinary. Contrary to many of its competitors, it doesn’t include an VPN service or microphone protection, however it does offer remote screen capture and camera access so you can observe what a thief is up to on your laptop or mobile.

The app has an intuitive interface that is simple to comprehend and operate for beginners, but also has detailed information and power user features for those who require it. The company provides outstanding customer service, which can be accessed via their website, or by contacting the client directly through the “support” button that is at the bottom of each app.

The status bar for ESET Internet Security at the top shows you the protection it is providing to your computer. It also gives you complete statistics about the protection. The software will notify you on your desktop, near the system tray, whenever something significant happens to your computer.

The antivirus’s antiphishing tools were extremely vigilant and blocked a variety of websites that I trusted but were not listed on PhishTank. Furthermore when we plugged in a USB storage device into our laptop the software automatically scans it which was somewhat annoying as most other programs simply ask you for permission to scan the device.
